The Department of Computational Neuroscience seeks a Research Software Engineer. The position is available immediately.
Max-Planck-Institut für biologische Kybernetik
Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics
The Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics investigates information processing in the brain. The institute uses experimental, theoretical and computational methods to study perception, memory, decision-making, motor performance and more, and to develop appropriate recording and imaging techniques. The Institute is multidisciplinary, has excellent facilities and close links to the neighbouring Max Planck Institutes and the University of Tübingen.
The Department of Computational Neuroscience at the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics, headed by Peter Dayan, is looking for a
Scientific Software Engineer (m/f/d)
The main focus of the department is building and testing theories and computational models of neural processing, with a particular emphasis on decision-making, learning and representation. This covers the ways that humans and other animals come to choose appropriate actions in the face of rewards and punishments, and the ways and goals of the process by which they come to form neural representations of the world. The models are informed and constrained by neurobiological, psychological and ethological data.
